The Basics

By using BeOnTime, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. It's that simple.

These terms apply to everyone who downloads and uses BeOnTime from the Mac App Store.

Who We Are

What BeOnTime Does

BeOnTime is a simple Mac app that:

• Reads your calendar (with your permission)
• Sends you reminders before meetings
• Helps you be on time

That's it. We're not trying to be everything. We're just trying to be good at one thing.

Age Requirements

You need to be at least 13 years old to use BeOnTime.

If you're under 18, your parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms on your behalf.

Pricing

🎉 BeOnTime Is Free

There's no subscription, no trial, and no paywall. Every feature is available to everyone, for as long as you use the app.

☕ Optional Tip Jar

If BeOnTime's kept you from missing a meeting and you'd like to support development, there's an optional tip jar in Settings:

• Buy Me a Coffee — $5.99
• Buy Me a Lunch — $10.99

Tips are one-time purchases, not subscriptions — nothing auto-renews, and you'll never be charged unless you actively choose to leave a tip. Prices are listed on the Mac App Store page and may change over time.

🔄 How Tips Are Billed

Tips are processed 100% through Apple's Mac App Store:

• Billing happens through your Apple ID payment method
• We don't see your payment information (Apple handles everything)
• Each tip is a single, one-time charge — there's nothing to cancel or manage

💵 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple, not us. Here's the deal:

• We don't process refunds directly (Apple does)
• Apple's refund policy applies to all Mac App Store purchases
• To request a refund, contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com

What You Can and Can't Do

✅ You CAN:

• Use BeOnTime for personal use
• Use it for work meetings
• Install it on any Mac you own
• Leave a tip, or never leave a tip — both are fine
• Contact us with questions or feedback

❌ You CAN'T:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the app
• Resell or redistribute BeOnTime
• Use it for anything illegal
• Try to break our systems or servers (we don't even have servers!)
• Violate Apple's Mac App Store terms

Bottom line: Use BeOnTime like a normal person, and we're cool.

Our Responsibilities (and Limitations)

What We Promise

• We'll do our best to keep BeOnTime working smoothly
• We'll fix bugs when we find them
• We'll respond to your emails within 48 hours
• We'll be honest and transparent

What We DON'T Promise

Here's what that means in plain English:

• We can't guarantee 100% uptime (apps crash sometimes)
• We can't guarantee perfect accuracy (macOS might delay notifications)
• We're not responsible if you miss a meeting because of a bug, your Mac crashing, Do Not Disturb being on, or network issues
• We can't promise the app will work with future macOS updates (but we'll try our best to update quickly)

Why the disclaimer? Because sometimes things break. Macs crash. macOS updates cause bugs. Notification settings get weird. We'll fix issues when they happen, but we can't be legally responsible for missed meetings.

Liability Limits

Here's the legal reality:

If BeOnTime causes you problems, the maximum we're liable for is the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Translation: Since BeOnTime is free and tips are optional, for most people that's $0. Either way, we can't be sued for millions if a notification bug causes you to miss a meeting. We're a small company, not a Fortune 500 corporation.

What we're NOT responsible for:

• Lost profits from missed meetings
• Damage to your reputation
• Emotional distress
• Problems caused by your Mac, macOS, or Apple
• Issues outside our control (internet outages, macOS bugs, calendar sync problems, etc.)

Why this section sounds scary: Because lawyers require it. But honestly, if BeOnTime costs you real money or causes real problems, email us. We're reasonable humans and we'll try to make it right.

Intellectual Property

Simple version: We own BeOnTime. You own your calendar data.

What We Own

• The BeOnTime app and code
• The BeOnTime name and logo
• The design and interface
• This website

What You Own

• Your calendar data (we never access it anyway - see our Privacy Policy)
• Your meeting information
• Any feedback you send us (but see below)

📧 Your Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback (via email or our website forms):

• We might use them to improve BeOnTime
• We don't have to pay you for ideas (sorry, that's industry standard)
• We appreciate your input and will credit you if we use your idea (unless you prefer to stay anonymous)

Why? Because if 100 people suggest the same feature, we can't pay everyone. But we do genuinely appreciate feedback!

Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

Just delete the app. Done. No questions asked.

We Can Remove Your Access If...

• You violate these terms
• You try to hack or break the app
• You're using the app for illegal purposes
• You're abusive to our support team (seriously, be nice)

Reality check: We've never banned anyone. We're not looking for excuses to kick people out. But we reserve the right to remove access if someone is genuinely causing problems.

Privacy & Data

BeOnTime doesn't collect your data. Everything stays on your Mac.

For full details, read our Privacy Policy (which is actually readable, we promise).

Quick Summary:

• We don't collect your calendar data
• We don't track you
• We don't sell your information
• We don't have servers storing your data

Third-Party Links

BeOnTime might link to other websites (like our support page or Apple's website).

We're not responsible for:

• Content on third-party websites
• Privacy policies of other sites
• What happens when you click external links

Use common sense: If a link looks sketchy, don't click it.

Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms occasionally (to fix typos, clarify things, or comply with new laws).

If we make major changes:

• We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
• We'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect
• You'll have 30 days to review the new terms
• If you don't agree with the new terms, stop using BeOnTime before they take effect

Continued use = acceptance. If you keep using BeOnTime after we update the terms, that means you agree to the new version.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, United States, where our company is registered.

If we have a legal dispute:

• We'll try to resolve it like adults first (email, phone call, etc.)
• If that doesn't work, Florida law applies
• Any lawsuits would be filed in Florida courts

Honestly though: If you have a problem, just email us. Legal action is expensive and annoying for everyone. Let's talk it out.

International Users

🇪🇺 European Union Users

If you're in the EU, you have additional consumer protection rights under EU law. These terms don't override those rights.

🇺🇸 California Users

California Civil Code Section 1789.3 requires us to tell you:

🌍 Everyone Else

Local consumer protection laws may give you additional rights. These terms don't take those away.

Miscellaneous Legal Stuff

Severability

If one part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Translation: If a court says "Section 5 is invalid," Sections 1-4 and 6+ still count.

Entire Agreement

These terms (plus our Privacy Policy) are the complete agreement between you and us.

Translation: Any verbal promises or side conversations don't override what's written here.

No Waiver

If we don't enforce a rule one time, that doesn't mean we've given up the right to enforce it later.

Translation: If we let something slide once, we can still enforce the rules next time.
